Hot Shot: That Grape Juice Meets Fantasia

That Grape Juice was in the house last night at Fantasia’s electrifying London debut at the indigO2. Following the show, which was hosted by Starmix, we took to the backstage area to catch up with the American Idol alum – who was very pleased to see us.

Videos: Tower robot Tsutenkaku conquers Akihabara, meets Asimo

Remember Tsutenkaku, “the world’s biggest” robot? Tsutenkaku, basically a 170cm tall robot that looks like a city tower, recently made the journey from Osaka (where he was made and is supposed to attract tourists) from Tokyo. Needless to say, he first went to Akihabara, Tokyo’s robot geek paradise, and while he was there, Tsutenkaku met Honda’s famous humanoid Asimo, too.

Tsutenkaku looks weird on pictures, but he’s actually much, much weirder on video.

Here’s Tsutenkaku walking around Akihabara and interacting with cute maids in manga cafes (it’s in Japanese, but that’s not too important in this case):

This video shows Tsutenkaku meeting Honda’s Asimo humanoid in more details. It seems both robots want to shake hands, but somehow, that fails:

iPhone App: PayPal Meets Bump

PayPal have announced they will be launching an iPhone app for people to make and take payments on the go, as well as rather cleverly attaching Bump support to the app.

If you don’t already have the app, Bump allows you to share contact details with people by holding your phones and bumping them together. The app allows you to share photos, contacts and even become Facebook friends by just bumping into each other, however now you can even pay each other.

The PayPal app will let you manage your PayPal account as well being able to quickly transfer money by using Bump.

Obviously the Bump functionality on the PayPal won’t be applicable to be people who are not present when making the bump transaction, however I expect this will definitely be a great app for friends and family that owe you money or even at places like car boot sales. However, I wonder how secure it is?
