In C’mon Son! News: Afeni Shakur, the 63-year-old mother of hip-hop legend Tupac, was arrested for marijuana possession in North Carolina earlier this month.
According to The Fayetteville Observer, the former Black Panther was charged with felony possession of marijuana, simple possession of a controlled substance, and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance and she was pulled over by cops.

Since her son was fatally shot in Las Vegas nearly 14 years ago, Afeni has devoted her life to upholding his legacy. She founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation in 1997, which provides arts and education programs for young people and mounts an annual performing-arts summer camp for youth from troubled homes.
She’s been released on $10,000 bail, and must appear in court on May 10 to resolve the matter.
