“Just In Case” Jaheim doesn’t make it home tonight, you’ll probably find at the local police station! R&B star Jaheim is facing charges of speeding and drug possession after he was pulled over by police in New Jersey, who were nearly knocked over by the scent of marijuana.
The burly crooner, real name Jaheim Hoagland, was stopped by police in Hillsborough, New Jersey on March 28 after they clocked him driving over the local 30 MPH limit. Jaheim soon found himself in even bigger trouble when officers picked up the smell of the marijuana he’d been smoking.
You’re smoking weed while driving? In the words of Ed Lover: “C’mon Son!”
During a search of the vehicle, cops found a bud of marijuana hidden underneath the driver’s seat — in addition to cigar wrappers and rolling paper.
Jaheim was promptly taken into custody. This isn’t the first time Jaheim’s penchant for puffing the peace pipe has gotten the star into a pickle. In 2004, the star was collared in the parking lot of a suburban New Jersey 7- and charged with possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. A judge later dismissed the charges, concluding that the cops did not have probable cause to search his vehicle.
Jaheim released his fifth album Another Round in February.
